These terms govern your use of RestorationIndex, a published index of Greater Toronto Area restoration companies. By using RestorationIndex you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Effective date: September 7, 2026.
What is RestorationIndex, and what does it not do?
RestorationIndex publishes information: an ordered list of restoration companies and a set of cost guides. It is not a referral service and not a marketplace. It takes no requests, forwards nothing to anyone, and has no arrangement of any kind with the companies it lists. It is not itself a contractor, performs no water damage restoration, mould remediation or fire restoration work, and is not a party to anything you agree with a company you found here. That contract is strictly between you and the business you hire.
Is the listing and ranking information guaranteed?
RestorationIndex information is provided on an as-is basis. We work to keep listings, ratings and pricing accurate, but we do not warrant that any detail is complete, current or error-free, and rankings are our editorial opinion based on a published formula. A high rank is not a certification, endorsement, or guarantee of any contractor's work, insurance, licensing or conduct. Always verify details and get written quotes before hiring.
Who is responsible if there is a dispute with a contractor?
You are responsible for choosing and dealing with any contractor. RestorationIndex is not liable for the quality, safety, timing, pricing or legality of work performed by a contractor you find through the site. Any dispute, claim, damage or loss arising from a contractor relationship is strictly between you and that contractor. We encourage you to confirm insurance, references and written contracts first.
Where does the review data come from?
Ratings and reviews shown on RestorationIndex are sourced from public Google Maps data and remain the property of Google and the individual reviewers. Google and Google Maps are trademarks of Google LLC, which does not sponsor or endorse RestorationIndex. Business names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and appear on RestorationIndex for identification and directory purposes only.
How does a listed business get its entry corrected or removed?
Companies appear here without being asked, because the index is built from public records rather than from signups. So there is a way out. Write to hello@restorationindex.ca with the business name and what is wrong, and the entry will be corrected or taken down. Send it from an address at the business if you can, since that is the quickest way to show the request is yours. There is no fee for this, nothing to sign up for and nothing to cancel afterwards, and removal means the entry comes out of the index rather than being hidden or held back for anything. We do not promise a fixed turnaround, because a small desk cannot guarantee one.
Who owns the content on RestorationIndex?
The RestorationIndex name, site design, rankings, written cost guides and original data compilations are owned by RestorationIndex and protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial use with attribution, but you may not scrape, copy, resell or republish our rankings, datasets or content in bulk without written permission. Automated data harvesting of the site is not permitted.
How may you use the phone numbers published here?
The phone numbers, addresses and websites in this index are published so a homeowner can reach a restoration company about actual work. Using them for unsolicited sales calls, marketing, recruitment or bulk contact of the listed businesses is not permitted, and neither is interfering with the site's operation or security.
What are the limits of RestorationIndex's liability?
To the fullest extent permitted by Ontario law, RestorationIndex is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or any contractor relationship, and our total liability for any claim is limited to CAD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Can these terms change?
RestorationIndex may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the revised terms here with a new effective date. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. We recommend reviewing this page and our privacy policy periodically.
What law governs these terms?
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the courts located in Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute relating to RestorationIndex or these terms.
